Peter KuanInstruments teach: Theory group lesson for ABRSM Trumpet
Peter Kuan is a versatile trumpeter recognized for his commitment to orchestral and chamber music performances. As an eager and active freelancer in New York City, Peter performs frequently at commercial functions as well as at classical venues that include the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
A native of Taiwan, Peter came to New York City after winning the prestigious Taiwan National Music Competition. His academic studies at Mannes College of Music, Purchase Conservatory of Music and New York University have overtime led him to apprentice with master trumpeters such as Vincent Penzarella, Chris Gecker, Graham Ashton, Thomas Hoyt, and David Krauss. Today, Peter spends most of his time in pursuit of his doctorate degree. His research in pedagogy and performance practices has helped both his students and himself to become better musicians. Peter was awarded Deans Fellow from NYU and has been receiving full sponsorship.
Peter is presently the acting principal- trumpet for the orchestras at NYU, Greenwich Village Orchestra, and Astoria Symphony as well as the serving adjunct-faculty of trumpet and instrumental studies at Steinhardt School of Education.
