Kana Miyamoto

Kana Miyamoto is a flutist and composer originally from Japan.
She started playing flute at age of 13 and quickly developed an interest in jazz. In 2002, the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan awarded Kana an, "Up-and-Coming Artist Overseas Training System" grant, which allowed her to study abroad. Kana returned to Japan to pursue and graduated a degree in Music at Tokyo College of Music in B.A. degree of Music education. Kana currently graduated from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Kana studied with Jamie Baum, Marc Mommass, Armen Donelian, Billy Harper. She has studied music education based on method of Kodály Zoltán, and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze.
